You are worthy of God’s love

You are worthy of God’s love

Sometimes, when everything is going well and life is smiling at us, we forget about God. We think that all the good things that happen to us and all our successes are the result of our own merit. We are the smart ones, we are the likable ones, weare the ones who work hard to achieve things. We don’t realize that all of these are blessings from God.

That’s why it’s often not until something goes wrong in our paradise that we remember Him—because we don’t know how to get out of the mess we’re in, or we don’t know what to do to feel okay. That’s when many of us feel ashamed—because we only seek Him when we need Him. We feel unworthy of Him, and we’re embarrassed to ask for His help and draw near to Him when things are bad, because we never did so when things were good.

We think this way because we don’t really know Him. We believe He’s like people—He’s going to judge us or turn His back on us. But He’s not like that! He is not a man—He is God! He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He understands that sometimes we need to be tested, or to hit rock bottom, in order to return to Him. And He is always waiting for us with open arms!

Just like some people have told me, there was a time when I didn’t have the courage to seek Him either. I felt I had strayed too far, that returning was impossible. That I had made too many mistakes, and He would be angry with me. That I couldn’t be so shameless as to ask for help when I was the one who pushed Him out of my life. I didn’t feel worthy of Him or of His love.

But you know what? As a friend once told me, those thoughts don’t come from God. He wants us close, and He’s always ready to welcome us. All we have to do is knock on His door. That’s not being selfish, or cynical, or a hypocrite. That’s a powerful act of humility. Saying, “Lord, I can’t go on—I need You.” A humble and repentant heart is all it takes for God to help us. He knows the deepest desires of our hearts and knows when to fulfill them.

If you feel alone, sad, or lost and can’t see a way out—seek God. He is the only one who can take your sadness and turn it into joy. The only one who can wipe away your tears and put a smile on your face. The only one who can light up your darkness and guide your path.

Don’t be afraid, and don’t listen to those thoughts that pull you farther away from Him. Admitting that you need God is an act of courage, not weakness. Asking Him for help is not a sign of defeat, but a sign of faith—faith that He can do what seems impossible to you. Faith that He can change what you have not been able to.

He is waiting for you, just one prayer away. He’s available 24/7. He will never say, “I don’t have time right now.” He will never send you to voicemail. What more could you ask for? Seek Him! It will be the best decision of your life.

You are worthy of God’s love. There’s nothing you can do to make Him love you more or less—He has loved you since the moment He created you. His love is unconditional and free, and His mercy is infinite.
